Understanding the QC Process
Here's how the QC process works from purchase to approval:
- 1
You submit a purchase order through KakoBuy for an item found on the spreadsheet
- 2
KakoBuy purchases the item from the Weidian seller and receives it at their warehouse
- 3
A KakoBuy warehouse staff member photographs the item from multiple angles
- 4
Photos are uploaded to your KakoBuy account for review
- 5
You review the photos and either approve shipment or request a return/replacement
- 6
If approved, KakoBuy packages and ships the item to your address
The QC Photo Checklist for Sneakers
Sneakers require the most detailed QC review. Use this checklist for every pair:
Overall shape — Does the silhouette match the retail version from all angles?
Toe box — Is the shape correct? Not too round, not too flat?
Swoosh/logo — Correct size, placement, and stitching quality?
Colorway accuracy — Do the colors match retail reference photos?
Leather/material texture — Does it look premium or cheap?
Stitching — Clean and even throughout the upper?
Midsole — Correct color, texture, and any branding?
Outsole — Correct pattern and color?
Heel tab — Correct height and any branding?
Insole — Correct branding and cushioning appearance?
Laces — Correct color and texture?
Box — Does the box match (if included)?
QC Checklist for Clothing
Clothing QC is different from sneakers but equally important:
Print/embroidery quality — Is the logo or graphic crisp and correctly positioned?
Color accuracy — Does it match the product photos?
Fabric quality — Does it look premium or thin/cheap?
Stitching — Clean seams throughout?
Tags — Correct branding on all tags?
Sizing — Does the garment look like the correct size?
Symmetry — Are both sides of the garment even?
Common QC Red Flags to Watch For
These are the most common issues that should trigger a return or replacement request:
How to Use Reference Photos
The key to effective QC review is having good reference photos to compare against. Before reviewing your QC photos, find high-quality retail reference photos of the exact item you ordered. The best sources are the brand's official website, StockX product pages (which have standardized photography), and community posts on Reddit r/FashionReps where buyers post side-by-side comparisons. Open your reference photos and QC photos side by side and go through each detail systematically. Don't rush this process — take your time and be thorough.
When to Accept vs. Reject QC
Not every imperfection warrants a rejection. Here's how to make the call:
Accept: Minor dust or surface marks that will clean off easily
Accept: Slight color variation that's within normal manufacturing tolerance
Accept: Minor stitching variation that doesn't affect durability
Reject: Wrong colorway or obvious color mismatch
Reject: Visible glue residue that won't clean off
Reject: Logo misalignment or incorrect sizing
Reject: Structural defects like uneven soles or misaligned uppers
Reject: Wrong size received
